Orange rainfall warning up over Oriental Mindoro

PAGASA raised the orange rainfall warning over Oriental Mindoro on Sunday morning as intense rains may be expected due to a low pressure area (LPA).

The warning was issued at 8 a.m.

Under the orange rainfall warning, intense rain measuring 15-30 mm may pour in one hour and may continue in the next two hours.

''FLOODING in low lying areas and near river channels and LANDSLIDES in landslide prone areas are threatening," PAGASA said.

The weather bureau advised the public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned to take the necessary actions, monitor the weather condition, and await the next weather advisory.

PAGASA earlier said an LPA embedded in the Intertropical Convergence Zone affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao on Sunday is expected to cause rains over the National Capital Region, Visayas, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, Aurora and Bulacan. —KG, GMA News
