LPA, shear line to bring cloudy skies, scattered rains over parts of Luzon, Visayas

At 3 a.m. on Thursday, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 580 kilometers east of Borongan City, Eastern Samar as the northeast monsoon was observed to be affecting Luzon, PAGASA reported.

Albay, Sorsogon, Catanduanes, Masbate, Palawan, Northern Samar, Samar, and Eastern Samar will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms brought about by the LPA and the shear line with possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to at times heavy rains.

Mindanao and the rest of Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon with no significant impact.

The northern and eastern sections of Luzon will experience moderate to strong wind speed moving northeastward while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

The wind speed for the Visayas and the rest of Luzon will be light to moderate and moving northeastward while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

In Mindanao, wind speed forecast is light to moderate moving in the east to northeast direction while coastal waters will remain slight to moderate.

The sun will rise by 5:53 a.m. and set by 5:27 p.m. -- BAP, GMA News
