PAGASA: LPA to bring scattered rains over Bicol, Samar, Palawan

A low pressure area was spotted 345 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes on Thursday, state weather bureau PAGASA said.

In its daily weather bulletin, PAGASA said the LPA was embedded along the intertropical convergence zone affecting Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao.

The LPA and the ITCZ will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the Bicol Region, Samar Provinces, and Palawan.

PAGASA advised affected residents to prepare for possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to, at times, heavy rains.

Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon due to the northeast monsoon.

The ITCZ will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Mindanao and the rest of Visayas, PAGASA said.

It added that flash floods or landslides are also possible during severe thunderstorms.

Further, moderate to strong wind and moderate to rough coastal water conditions will prevail over Northern Luzon, while light to moderate winds and slight to moderate waters will be experienced in Western Visayas, the rest of Luzon, Mindanao, and the rest of Visayas.—Ma.
