PAGASA: Amihan, shear line to bring rain over some Luzon areas

The shear line or tail-end of frontal system will bring rain showers to eastern section of Southern Luzon, while the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan will affect Northern and Central Luzon, PAGASA said Saturday.

According to PAGASA’s 4 p.m. weather forecast, Calabarzon and Camarines Norte will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms caused by the shear line.

Flash floods or landslides are possible during heavy rains, the state weather bureau said.

Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, and Central Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to Northeast Monsoon, it added.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast for Northern and Central Luzon is moderate to strong moving northeast while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

Also, the rest of the country will experience light to moderate wind speed while coastal waters will be slight to moderate. —LBG, GMA News
