PAGASA monitoring LPA outside PAR

State weather bureau PAGASA is monitoring a low-pressure area outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), GMA resident meteorologist Nathaniel "Mang Tani" Cruz reported on Unang Balita on Monday.

The LPA was spotted at 3 a.m. 1,960 kilometers east of Mindanao, over the Pacific Ocean.

Meanwhile, the shear line (tail-end of frontal system) exists in Luzon, while the intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will affect some parts of Mindanao.

Based on the Metro weather data, possible rainfalls may occur in Batanes, Palawan, and Mindanao.

PAGASA warns the public of possible rainshowers and thunderstorms on Monday in some areas in Metro Manila. --Sherylin Untalan/KBK, GMA News
