Northeast monsoon to bring rain over Batanes, Cagayan, Apayao, Ilocos Norte


The northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies and rain to Batanes, Cagayan, Apayao, and Ilocos Norte on Tuesday afternoon, state weather bureau PAGASA said.

Meanwhile, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi will experience cloudy skies and scattered rains due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone.

PAGASA also said Metro Manila and the rest of the Philippines will experience partly cloudy skies with isolated rains brought about by localized thunderstorms.

State meteorologists said they are also monitoring a tropical cyclone outside the Philippine area of responsibility.

As of 3 p.m., Tropical Storm Nyatoh is located 1,525 kilometers east of Southern Luzon, packing maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour (kph) with gustiness up to 90 kph while moving northwestward at 20 kph.

The wind speed forecast for Luzon is moderate to strong moving in the northeast to north direction while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

As for the Visayas and Mindanao, wind speed forecast is light to moderate moving in the northeast to northwest direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.—AOL, GMA News
