Trough of Typhoon Nyatoh to bring cloudy skies, rain over Bicol, Romblon, parts of Visayas


The northeast monsoon will be affecting Luzon on Thursday, according to PAGASA's latest forecast.

The weather bureau continues to track the tropical cyclone, Typhoon Nyatoh, outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

As of 3 a.m., the typhoon was spotted 1,440 kilometers east of central Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 120 kilometers per hour with gustiness up to 150 kph and moving northward at the speed of 20 kph.

Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Romblon, Aklan, and Capiz will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms brought about by the trough of Typhoon Nyatoh with possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to at times heavy rains.

Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Apayao, and Aurora will have cloudy skies with light rains due to northeast monsoon with no significant impact.

Mindanao, the rest of Visayas, and the rest of MIMAROPA will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorm with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon with no significant impact.

Wind speed forecast for Luzon and Visayas is moderate to strong moving in the northeast to north direction while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

Mindanao will experience light to moderate wind speed forecast moving in the northwest to west while coastal waters will remain light to moderate.
