Northeast Monsoon to bring rains over Luzon — PAGASA


The Northeast Monsoon will be affecting Luzon, the weather bureau PAGASA said on Friday.

PAGASA also continues to monitor the tropical cyclone Nyatoh outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

As of 3 p.m., Typhoon Nyatoh is located 1,960 kilometers extreme northern Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 185 kilometers per hour and gustiness up to 230 kph and moving northeastward at 45 kph.

Visayas, Mindanao, and the southern portion of Palawan including Kalayaan Islands will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms caused by the trough of Typhoon Nyatoh with possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to at times heavy rains.

Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, and Northern Quezon including Polillo Islands will have cloudy skies with light rains brought by Northeast Monsoon.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.

The wind speed forecast for Luzon, the Visayas, and eastern section of Mindanao is moderate to strong while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

Meanwhile, the rest of Mindanao will experience light to moderate wind speed while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
