Shear line affecting Eastern Visayas; Northeast Monsoon to bring rains over Luzon

The shear line will bring cloudy skies with scattered to widespread rain showers and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas, Sorsogon, and Masbate including Ticao and Burias Islands, PAGASA said Wednesday.

In its 24-hour forecast, PAGASA advised affected residents to prepare for possible flooding or landslides during heavy to, at times, intense rains.

Northern Mindanao, Dinagat Islands, and the rest of Visayas and Bicol Region will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the shear line.

Flash floods or landslides are also possible during moderate to, at times, heavy rains.

The Northeast Monsoon will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, and the northern portion of Quezon including Polillo Islands.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.

Localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorm over the rest of Mindanao.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal water conditions will prevail over Luzon, Visayas, and the eastern section of Mindanao, while light to moderate winds and slight to moderate waters will be experienced over the rest of Mindanao. — Ma. Angelica Garcia/VBL, GMA News
