Shear line to bring cloudy skies, scattered rains over Cagayan Valley, Aurora


The shear Line will be affecting the eastern section of Northern and Central Luzon on Tuesday while the northeast monsoon will affect the rest of Northern Luzon as the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will be affecting southern Mindanao, according to the early morning forecast posted by PAGASA.

Cagayan Valley and Aurora will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms brought about by the shear line with possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Mindanao will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ with possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Ilocos Region will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to the northeast monsoon with no significant impact.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Wind speed forecast for Luzon is moderate to strong moving in the northeast to east direction while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

Mindanao and Visayas will experience light to moderate wind speed moving northeastward while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

The weather bureau continues to monitor the active tropical cyclone located outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

As of 3 a.m., Tropical Storm Rai (formerly Odette) is located 80 kilometers west northwest of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte packing maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour, gustiness of up to 80 kph, moving northeastward at the speed of 80 kph.
