Scattered rains to prevail over parts of Luzon, Mindanao due to ITCZ, Amihan

Cloudy skies with scattered rains will prevail over parts of Mindanao caused by the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), while the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan will affect Luzon, according to the weather bureau PAGASA on Saturday.

Based on PAGASA’s 4 p.m. weather forecast, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Dinagat Islands, and Davao Oriental will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ.

PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains in these areas.

Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and Quezon will have cloudy skies with light rains due to Amihan.

Metro Manila, Visayas, and the rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.

Meanwhile, the rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast for Luzon is moderate to strong while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

The rest of the country will experience light to moderate wind speed while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

The sun will rise at 6:18 a.m. on Sunday. — Richa Noriega/VBL, GMA News
