Shear line affecting Visayas, 5 Mindanao areas
The shear line or tail-end of a frontal system will bring cloudy skies and thunderstorms over Visayas and six areas in Mindanao on Thursday, PAGASA said Thursday.
In its daily forecast, the state weather bureau said that the shear line will dampen Visayas, Caraga, northern Mindanao, the Davao Region, Sarangani, and General Santos City.
The Northeast Monsoon, meanwhile, will bring light rains over Cagayan Valley, Bicol Region, Aurora, Quezon, Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon.
For Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains caused by the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan will be expected but there will be no significant impact.
PAGASA also said the rest of Mindanao will experience cloudy skies and isolated rains due to localized thunderstorms.
The wind speed forecast for Luzon, Visayas, and the northern and eastern sections of Mindanao is moderate to strong moving northeast while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
The rest of Mindanao will experience light to moderate wind speed moving northeast while coastal waters will be slight to moderate. — Consuelo Marquez/BM, GMA News
