Cloudy skies, rains in parts of Visayas, Mindanao on New Year's Day
Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms will prevail in parts of Visayas and northeastern portion of Mindanao, while the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan will affect Luzon on New Year's Day, PAGASA said on Friday.
According to PAGASA’s 4 p.m. 24-hour weather forecast, Cagayan Valley, Bicol Region, Aurora, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon will experience cloudy skies with light rains caused by Amihan.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.
The wind speed forecast for Luzon, Visayas, and the eastern sections of Mindanao is moderate to strong moving northeast while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
The rest of Mindanao will experience light to moderate wind speed while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
The sun will rise at 6:21 a.m. on Saturday. —NB, GMA News
