LPA, shear line to bring cloudy skies, isolated rains over parts of Luzon


A Low Pressure Area (LPA) and shear line or tail-end of frontal system will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms in parts of Luzon, the weather bureau PAGASA said on Thursday.

As of 3 p.m., the LPA was estimated to be located at 165 kilometers southeast of Kalayaan, Palawan.

PAGASA said Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, and Kalayaan Island will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms with possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Davao Region and Caraga will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms with possible flash floods or landslides due to scattered light to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the wind speed forecast in Northern Luzon and the eastern section of Central Luzon is moderate to strong while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

The rest of the country will experience light to moderate wind speed while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
