Cloudy skies, rains over Batanes, Cagayan due to the shear line


The northeast monsoon will be affecting northern Luzon on Wednesday, PAGASA reported in its early morning forecast.

Batanes and Cagayan including Babuyan Islands will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms brough about by the shear line with possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Caraga, northern Mindanao, Davao Region, Leyte, southern Leyte, and Bohol will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the easterlies with possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Ilocos provinces, Apayao, Abra, and Kalinga will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon with no significant impact.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies / localized thunderstorms with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast for northern Luzon is moderate to strong moving northeastward while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

The rest of Luzon, Visayas, and the eastern section of Mindanao will experience moderate to strong wind speed moving in the east to northeast direction while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

The rest of Mindanao will experience light to moderate wind speed moving northeastward while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
