Easterlies, Northeast Monsoon to bring rains over parts of Philippines

Caraga, Davao Region, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Samar, and Eastern Samar will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the easterlies, PAGASA said Wednesday.

In its 24-hour weather forecast, PAGASA advised affected residents to prepare for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to, at times, heavy rains.

The Northeast Monsoon will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Batanes and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Cagayan Valley.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country, meanwhile, will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies and localized thunderstorms.

Flash floods or landslides are also possible due to moderate to, at times, heavy rains.

Further, moderate to strong wind and moderate to rough coastal water conditions will prevail over Luzon, Visayas, and the eastern section of Mindanao, while light to moderate winds and slight to moderate waters will be experienced over the rest of Mindanao.  — Ma. Angelica Garcia/VBL, GMA News
