Shear line, Amihan to bring rains over parts of Luzon, Visayas – PAGASA

The shear line (tail-end of the frontal system) and Northeast Monsoon or Amihan will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains over parts of Luzon and Visayas, according to weather bureau PAGASA on Saturday.

Based on PAGASA’s 4 p.m. weather forecast, Eastern and Central Visayas, Bicol Region, Marinduque, Romblon, Oriental Mindoro, Quezon, Aurora, and Cagayan will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the shear line.

PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

The Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Cagayan Valley will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to Amihan.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast for Luzon and the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao is moderate to strong while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

The rest of the country will experience light to moderate wind speed while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.  — Richa Noriega/VBL, GMA News
