Cloudy skies, scattered rains over Palawan, Visayas, Mindanao due to LPA, shear line


As of 3 a.m. on Wednesday, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 45 kilometers South of Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Sur with the shear line affecting Eastern Visayas while the northeast monsoon will affecting Luzon and the rest of Visayas, PAGASA reported in its early morning forecast.

Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the LPA / shear line with possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon, and the Bicol Region will have cloudy skies with light rains due to the northeast monsoon, which has no significant impact.

Metro Manila and the rest of the Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon with no significant impact.

The wind speed forecast for northern Luzon and the eastern section of central and southern Luzon is moderate to strong moving northeastward while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

The rest of Luzon and the Visayas will have moderate to strong wind speed moving in the northeast to north direction with moderate to rough coastal waters.

Mindanao will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the southeast to northeast direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
