LPA to cause scattered rain showers over Zamboanga Peninsula, 4 other areas
A low pressure area (LPA) located northeast of Zamboanga City and embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone will bring cloudy skies, scattered rain showers and thunderstorms on Monday over the Zamboanga Peninsula, Palawan, Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi, PAGASA said in its weather forecast.
These areas may also have flash floods or landslides during times of moderate to heavy rains.
PAGASA said the LPA was located at 3 a.m. at 20 km northeast of Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Sur.
"Itong low pressure area ay mababa pa rin ang tsansa na maging bagyo," PAGASA weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said.
(This low pressure area still has a low chance of developing into a tropical depression.)
Meanwhile, the easterlies are affecting the rest of the country.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies. Flash floods or landslides may result during severe thunderstorms.
Coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the country.
