Caraga, Davao Region, SOCCSKSARGEN to have scattered rain showers due to ITCZ, LPA
Caraga, Davao Region, and SOCCSKSARGEN will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms on Monday due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) and the low pressure area (LPA) embedded in it, PAGASA said in its weather forecast.
Flash floods or landslides may result due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
PAGASA said the LPA was located at 3 a.m. at 40 km south southwest of General Santos City.
"Mababa ang tiyansa nito na maging bagyo," PAGASA weather forecaster Aldzar Aurelio said in an interview on Super Radyo dzBB.
([The LPA] has a low chance of intensifying into a tropical depression.)
Meanwhile, the frontal system is affecting Batanes and Babuyan Islands and will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over these areas. Flash floods may occur during times of moderate to heavy rains.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country on the other hand will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies and localized thunderstorms. During severe thunderstorms, flash floods or landslides may result.
Coastal waters will be moderate to rough in the seaboards of Extreme Northern Luzon, with waves possibly reaching up to 3.1 meters tall.
Elsewhere in the country, coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
