LPA, ITCZ to bring cloudy skies, scattered rains over Eastern Visayas, Mindanao

A low pressure area (LPA) embedded along the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) will affect Eastern Visayas and Mindanao, according to weather bureau PAGASA on Friday.

PAGASA said the LPA was last spotted 220 kilometers east of Davao City.

Flash floods or landslides caused by moderate to at times heavy rains may occur due to the weather disturbance.

Easterlies or localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

The weather bureau said this may result in flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast for the whole country is light to moderate, while coastal water conditions will be slight to moderate. —Giselle Ombay/VBL, GMA News
