LPA off Tuguegarao, Habagat to bring rains across the country

Two weather systems will bring rains over parts of the country in the next 24 hours, PAGASA said Wednesday.

According to PAGASA's 4 p.m. weather forecast, a low pressure area (LPA) was located 250 kilometers east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan at 3 p.m., while the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) will continue to affect the western sections of Northern and Central Luzon.

The LPA and Habagat will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Bicol Region, Quezon, Aurora, Zambales, and Bataan.

Flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

Residents were advised of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

The whole archipelago will experience light to moderate wind speeds, while coastal water conditions will be slight to moderate, ranging from 0.6 to 2.5 meters. —Mel Matthew Doctor/VBL, GMA News
