LPA, Habagat to still bring rains across the country

A low pressure area (LPA) and the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) will continue to bring rains across the country, weather bureau PAGASA said on Thursday.

In its 4 p.m. weather forecast, PAGASA said the LPA was located 310 kilometers west of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte at 3 p.m., while Habagat will affect western sections of Northern and Central Luzon.

The Ilocos Region, Abra, Mountain Province, Benguet, Zambales and Bataan will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the LPA/Habagat.

Flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate to at times heavy rains, PAGASA said.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

The wind speed forecast for the whole archipelago will be light to moderate, while coastal water conditions will be slight to moderate, ranging from 0.6 to 2.1 meters.

The sun will rise over Metro Manila at 5:43 a.m. on Friday. —Mel Matthew Doctor/VBL, GMA News
