LPA to bring scattered rain over eastern Luzon, Visayas areas

A low-pressure Area (LPA) will bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, and Quezon Province, weather bureau PAGASA reported on Friday afternoon.

Based on PAGASA’s 4 p.m. weather forecast, the LPA was spotted 135 kilometers east-northeast of Virac, Catanduanes as of 3 p.m.

PAGASA warned that the moderate to at times heavy rain from the LPA could cause flash floods or landslides.

The rest of the country could meanwhile expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) and localized thunderstorms.

Luzon could expect light to moderate winds from the northeast to northwest with slight to moderate coastal conditions, while the rest of the country would experience light to moderate winds from the east to northeast with slight to moderate coastal water conditions.

The sun will rise at 5:44 a.m. on Saturday. — DVM, GMA News
