Gardo turns towards Philippine Sea, moving in north-northeast direction

Tropical Depression Gardo meanders over the Philippine Sea and is now moving in the north northeast direction, according to the Tropical Cyclone Bulletin posted by PAGASA early Wednesday morning.

The center of the Tropical Depression was estimated at 1,130 kilometers east of extreme northern Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center, gustiness of up to 70 km/h, and central pressure of  1000 hPa.

Gardo is not likely to directly affect the weather condition and the sea conditions over the coastal waters of the country.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Wind speed forecast for northern and central Luzon is light to moderate moving in the northeast to northwest direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

The rest of the country will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the northwest to southwest direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

Sunrise will be at 5:44 a.m., sunset at 6:09 p.m.

Tropical Depression Gardo is forecast to move generally northward or north northwestward as it interacts with Super Typhoon Hinnamnor, which is outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility or PAR and degenerate into a remnant low this afternoon or evening.

PAGASA continues to monitor Super Typhoon Hinnamnor, which is by 3 a.m., 1,170 kilometers east northeast of extreme northern Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 195 km/h, gustiness of up to 240 km/h and moving westward at the speed of 30 km/h.

PAGASA maintained that the public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned should take all necessary measures to protect life and property. And that persons living in areas identified to be highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards are advised to follow evacuation and other instructions from local officials. -- BAP, GMA News
