Habagat to still affect northern Luzon, Central Luzon

The Southwest Monsoon or Habagat will continue to affect northern Luzon and Central Luzon and is expected to bring rain showers in the next 24 hours, PAGASA said on Sunday.

According to the state weather bureau's 4 p.m. weather forecast, Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Abra, Benguet, Bulacan, Pampanga, Tarlac, Zambales, Bataan, and Cavite will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the Habagat.

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail over Caraga and Davao Region due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).

Affected residents were advised to prepare for possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to at times heavy rains.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

Flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms, PAGASA said.

The wind speed forecast for Northern and Central Luzon will be moderate to strong while coastal water conditions will be moderate to rough, ranging from 2.5 meters to 4.5 meters.

Light to moderate wind speeds will be experienced by the rest of the country, with slight to moderate coastal water conditions ranging from 0.6 meters to 2.5 meters. — Mel Matthew Doctor/BM, GMA News
