Habagat, Karding's Trough to bring rains over western sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas

The southwest monsoon or habagat will be affecting the western sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas on Tuesday, PAGASA reported in its early morning forecast.

As the weather bureau continues to monitor the active tropical cyclone outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), Typhoon Noru (formerly Karding) is located 735 kilometers west of Dagupan City, Pangasinan.

Noru is packing maximum sustained winds of 150 kilometers per hour, gustiness of up to 185 km/h, and moving westward at 40 km/h.

Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, Bataan, Zambales, and Western Visayas will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms brought about by the southwest monsoon and Trough of Typhoon Karding with possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon and localized thunderstorms with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Luzon, Visayas, and the western section of Mindanao will experience moderate to strong wind speed moving in the southwest to southeast direction while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

The wind speed forecast for the rest of Mindanao is slight to moderate moving in the southwest to west direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
