ITCZ to bring scattered rains, thunderstorms over Palawan, Visayas, Mindanao


The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) is forecasted to bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao on Friday, PAGASA reported.

The Visayas, Palawan, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms brought about by the ITCZ with possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the ITCZ and localized thunderstorms with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast for Luzon is light to moderate moving northeastward while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

The Visayas and Mindanao will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the east to northeast direction while coastal waters will remain slight to moderate.
