ITCZ to bring scattered rains, thunderstorms over parts of Southern Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao


The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) is forecasted to bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to parts of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao on Saturday, PAGASA reported.

Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, and Palawan will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ with possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the ITCZ and localized thunderstorms with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast for extreme Northern Luzon is moderate to strong moving northeastward while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

Luzon and Visayas will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the northeast to east direction with slight to moderate coastal waters.

For Mindanao, the wind speed forecast is light to moderate moving in the northeast to north direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
