Shear line to bring rain to northern Luzon
The shear line affecting extreme northern Luzon may bring rains across parts of the region, PAGASA said Monday.
According to the state weather bureau, cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms may be experienced over the provinces of Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Apayao, Abra, Kalinga, Mountain Province, and Ilocos Norte due to the shear line—a narrow zone with a change in wind direction—and the trough or extension of a low-pressure area (LPA).
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, meanwhile, may prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country due to the localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA is also monitoring a low-pressure area (LPA) in northern Luzon. It was last seen 460 kilometers east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan as of 3 p.m.
Forecast winds in northern Luzon will be strong, to be accompanied by rough coastal waters. The rest of the country will experience moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters while the rest of the country will have light to moderate winds with slight to moderate waters.
Minimum temperature was recorded at 24.2°C at 6 a.m. while maximum temperature was last monitored at 3 p.m. at 34.8°C.
The sun will set at 5:40 p.m. It will rise Tuesday at 5:53 a.m. — Sundy Locus/BM, GMA News
