Southwesterly surface wind flow may bring rains across Philippines
Rains may persist over the country due to the effect of the southwesterly surface wind flow, weather bureau PAGASA said Monday.
In its 4 p.m. bulletin, the agency said cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms may be experienced in the Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi due to the southwesterly surface wind flow.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms may prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country caused by the localized thunderstorms and the southwesterly surface wind flow.
PAGASA warned the public against possible flash floods and landslides in the affected areas due to the expected rains.
Forecast winds in Luzon will be moderate to strong with moderate to rough coastal waters. Light to moderate winds, meanwhile, will blow over Visayas and Mindanao to be accompanied by slight to moderate waters.
