PAGASA: Shear line, Amihan to bring rains over Luzon

Luzon would be under the influence of a shear line and the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan), weather bureau PAGASA reported on Monday.

In its latest forecast, PAGASA said the Amihan would bring cloudy skies with rains to the Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Mt. Province, Ifugao, Aurora, Quezon, Rizal, Laguna, Batangas, Oriental Mindoro, and Marinduque.

It would also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rain over Metro Manila, Western Visayas, and the rest of Luzon.

The shear line and the trough of a low-pressure area (LPA) would bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over the Bicol, Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao Regions.

Meanwhile, the trough of an LPA and localized thunderstorms would bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over the rest of the country.

PAGASA warned landslides and flash floods were possible in areas affected by rainfall.

Temperature in Quezon City dropped to a low of 24.7ºC at 5 a.m., then rose to a high of 29.4ºC at 1 p.m.

Winds over Luzon and the Visayas would be moderate to strong with moderate to rough coastal waters. Mindanao would have light to moderate winds with slight to moderate waters.

Sunset would be at 5:31 p.m. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
