LPA, shear line, Amihan to cause rains over parts of the country
A low pressure area (LPA) located east of Agusan del Norte and a shear line will cause cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms on Monday over Metro Manila, Bicol Region, Mimaropa, and Calabarzon, PAGASA said in its weather forecast.
Flooding or landslides may result due to moderate to heavy rains.
At 3 a.m. Monday, the LPA was estimated to be located at 180 km east of Butuan City, Agusan del Norte.
The Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) meanwhile is affecting Extreme Northern Luzon.
It will cause cloudy skies with rains over Batanes, Cagayan, and Apayao. Moderate to heavy rains may possibly lead to flooding or landslides.
The Ilocos Region, the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Cagayan Valley will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains due to the monsoon.
Meanwhile, the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the LPA and localized thunderstorms. During severe thunderstorms, flash floods or landslides may possibly result.
Coastal waters will be rough in the seaboards of Northern Luzon; moderate to rough in the rest of Luzon and Visayas; and light to moderate in Mindanao.
Sunrise will be at 6:25 a.m. while sunset will be at 5:47 p.m. —KG, GMA Integrated News
