Shear line, Amihan to affect parts of country

The shear line and the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan will affect several areas of the country, according to weather bureau PAGASA on Thursday.

Based on PAGASA’s 4 p.m. weather forecast, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, Albay, Sorsogon, and Catanduanes will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the shear line.

Flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate to heavy rains, PAGASA said.

Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Bicol Region, Aurora, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon will have cloudy skies with rains due to Amihan, with possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, moderate to strong winds will prevail in Luzon, Visayas, and the northern and eastern sections of Mindanao, while coastal water conditions will be moderate to rough.

The rest of Mindanao will experience light to moderate winds, while coastal water conditions will be slight to moderate. —Richa Noriega/VBL, GMA Integrated News
