Amihan, localized thunderstorms to trigger rains over Philippines

Light to moderate rains may persist across parts of the country due to the northeast monsoon (amihan) and localized thunderstorms, according to PAGASA on Wednesday.

Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, and Western Visayas may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains due to amihan, the state weather bureau indicated on its 4 p.m. forecast.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are expected over Mindanao and the rest of Visayas due to the localized thunderstorm.

PAGASA warned the public against possible flash floods and landslides in the affected areas brought about by the possible rainfall.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough waters will prevail in the eastern section of the Philippines while the rest of the country will have moderate winds and moderate to rough coastal waters, the agency added.
