Isolated rainshowers seen in Metro Manila, rest of Philippines

PAGASA on Sunday said partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms are expected in Metro Manila and other parts of the country due to the trough of a low pressure area (LPA) and localized thunderstorms.

In its forecast, the state weather bureau warned of possible flash floods or landslides in Metro Manila, the Cagayan Valley, and eastern Visayas, due mainly to the northeasterly surface windflow and the trough of the LPA.

The trough of the LPA is also expected to bring in cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms in eastern Visayas, Surigao del Norte, and the Dinagat Islands.

PAGASA expects cloudy skies with rains in the Cagayan Valley due to the northeasterly surface windflow, with possible flash floods or landslides among the possible impacts during the severe thunderstorms.

The agency also expects partly cloudy skies with light rains in Central Luzon, the Ilocos Region, and the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) due to the northeasterly surface windflow. — Jon Viktor D. Cabuenas/BM, GMA Integrated News
