LPA, ITCZ, easterlies to bring rain showers over several areas

A low pressure area (LPA), Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), and the easterlies will bring rain showers over parts of the country on Wednesday, PAGASA said in its weather forecast.

At 3 a.m., the LPA was estimated to be located over the coastal waters of San Agustin, Surigao del Sur.

It is embedded along the ITCZ which is affecting Palawan, Visayas and Mindanao, PAGASA said.

Visayas, Mindanao, Bicol Region, and Mimaropa will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ and the LPA. Flash floods or landslides may result due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country meanwhile may have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies and localized thunderstorms. During severe thunderstorms, flash floods or landslides may occur.

Coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the country.

Sunrise was at 5:33 a.m. while sunset will be at 6:13 p.m. —KG, GMA Integrated News
