LPA trough, Southwest Monsoon or Habagat to bring rain showers
A low pressure area in Mindanao and the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat affecting Luzon and Visayas will bring rain showers over several areas on Tuesday, PAGASA said in its forecast.
Caraga and the Davao Region will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the trough or extension of the LPA. Flash floods or landslides may result due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
The LPA was estimated to be located at 3 a.m. at 810 km east of northeastern Mindanao.
"Mataas ang tsansa na maging bagyo ang nabanggit na low pressure area," GMA weather presenter Anjo Pertierra said on Unang Balita on Tuesday, basing it on PAGASA's forecast.
(There is a big chance the low pressure area will develop into a tropical depression.)
Once the LPA enters the Philippine Area of Responsibility, it will be called Egay.
Meanwhile, Zambales and Bataan will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the Habagat. Moderate to at times heavy rains may result in flash floods or landslides.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country on the other hand may expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the monsoon and localized thunderstorms. During severe thunderstorms, isolated floodings or landslides may occur.
Coastal waters will be moderate to rough in Luzon and the western section of Visayas, and slight to moderate elsewhere in the country.
