PAGASA: LPA, ITCZ to bring heavy rains in different parts of country in next 3 days
Heavy rains are expected in different parts of the country in the next three days due to the low pressure area (LPA) embedded within the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), state weather bureau PAGASA said on Tuesday.
In its 11 a.m. advisory, PAGASA said the following areas will have a 50 to 100 mm heavy rainfall on Tuesday and Wednesday:
- Caraga
- Camiguin
- Misamis Oriental
- Bukidnon
- Davao Oriental
- Davao De Oro
The same heavy rainfall outlook is also expected in Eastern Visayas and Caraga on Thursday, according to PAGASA.
“Under these conditions, flooding and rain-induced landslides are possible, especially in areas that are highly or very highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards as identified in hazard maps,” PAGASA said.
“Persons living in areas identified to be highly susceptible to these hazards are advised to follow evacuation and other instruction from local officials,” it added.
PAGASA advised concerned public and disaster risk reduction and management offices to take all necessary measures to protect life and property. — RSJ, GMA Integrated News
