Habagat to bring rain over parts of Luzon, Visayas
The southwest monsoon or habagat will bring cloudy skies and rain over parts of Luzon and Visayas on Friday, PAGASA reported.
Meanwhile, the weather bureau is currently monitoring two weather systems.
As of 3 a.m. active tropical cyclone, Typhoon Doksuri (formerly Egay) outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), is 385 kilometers northwest of Itbayat, Batanes packing maximum sustained winds of 150 kilometers per hour, gustiness of up to 185 km/h, and moving north northwestward at the speed of 15 km/h.
Tropical Storm Khanun, meanwhile, is 1,300 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas packing maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h, gustiness of up to 80 km/h and moving west southwestward at the speed of 18 km/h.
Forecast Weather Conditions
Ilocos Region, Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, Northern Palawan including Calamian and Cuyo Islands will have monsoon rains due to the southwest monsoon or habagat. Flooding or landslides possible in this areas due to scattered to widespread rains.
Metro Manila, Cordillera Administrative Region, CALABARZON, the rest of Central Luzon, and the rest of MIMAROPA will have occasional rains also due to the southwest monsoon. Flooding or landslides may occur in these areas due to moderate to heavy rains.
Meanwhile, Cagayan Valley and Western Visayas will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms also due to the southwest monsoon. Flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
The rest of the country Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the habagat and localized thunderstorms with the possible occurrence of flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
Forecast Wind and Coastal Water Condition
Northern Luzon will experience strong wind speed moving in the southwest to south direction with rough coastal waters.
Visayas and the rest of Luzon will experience strong winds moving southwestward while coastal waters will be rough.
Mindanao will experience moderate to strong wind speed moving in the south to southwest directions while coastal waters will be moderate to rough
