Yellow rainfall warning up over Metro Manila, Bataan, parts of Zambales
PAGASA raised the yellow rainfall warning over Metro Manila, Bataan, and parts of Zambales at 8 a.m. Sunday due to the heavy rains from the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) being enhanced by Severe Tropical Storm Falcon (international name: Khanun).
San Marcelino, San Felipe, San Narciso, San Antonio, Castillejos, Subic, and Olongapo are the areas in Zambales covered by the yellow rainfall warning.
With this warning, residents are advised to monitor as flooding may result in flood-prone areas, PAGASA said.
The yellow rainfall warning means heavy rains measuring 7.5 to 15 mm are to be expected in one hour which may continue in the next two hours.
Light to moderate rains meanwhile may be expected within the next two to three hours over Tarlac, NuevaEcija, Laguna, Batangas, Quezon, PAGASA said.
The rest of Zambales, Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite on the other hand will have light to moderate with occasional heavy rains which may persist within three hours.
PAGASA advised the public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned to monitor the weather condition and await the next advisory at 11 a.m.
Falcon developed into a severe tropical storm before dawn on Sunday and continues to enhance the Southwest Monsoon which will bring occasional to monsoon rains over the western sections of Luzon and Visayas in the next three days, PAGASA said in its 5 a.m. bulletin. —KG, GMA Integrated News
