Amihan, Easterlies to bring rains over parts of country

The Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) is affecting parts of Northern and Central Luzon, while the easterlies are affecting the rest of the country.

According to PAGASA's 24-hour weather forecast issued on Tuesday afternoon, the easterlies will cause cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Mindanao.

The Northeast Monsoon will bring cloudy skies with rains over Cagayan Valley and Apayao, and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila, the Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, and the rest of the Cordillera Administrative Region.

The combined effects of the easterlies and localized thunderstorms will cause partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the rest of the country.

Flash floods or landslides may occur except in Metro Manila, the Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, and the rest of CAR.

Meanwhile, Northern Luzon is set to experience strong winds and rough waters.

The rest of Luzon will have moderate to strong winds with moderate to rough waters, while the rest of the country is forecast to have light to moderate winds with slight to moderate waters.

The sun will rise at 6:22 a.m. on Wednesday. — Jiselle Anne Casucian/VBL, GMA Integrated News
