Shear line to bring rain over Visayas areas, north Mindanao
State weather bureau PAGASA on Saturday said a shear line would bring scattered rains over sections of the Visayas and the northern areas of Mindanao.
Based on the 4 p.m. weather forecast, Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, Caraga, and Northern Mindanao would have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the shear line.
PAGASA warned of flash floods or landslides due to moderate to, at times, heavy rains.
Meanwhile, mainland Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Bicol Region, and Western Visayas would also have cloudy skies with light rains, but this time due to the Northeast Monsoon.
The rest of Luzon would have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the Northeast Monsoon.
The rest of Mindanao would also experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA warned of flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
Wind speed
The wind speed in the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and the Visayas would be strong, moving in the northeast direction, while coastal waters would be rough.
The rest of the country would have moderate to strong winds moving northeast with moderate to rough coastal waters.
The sun would set at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday, while sunrise would be at 6:24 a.m. on Sunday. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
