Shear line, Amihan to bring rains over several areas

A shear line and the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) are affecting Luzon and Visayas on Sunday and will bring rains over several areas, PAGASA said in its weather forecast.

Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, and Davao Oriental will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the shear line affecting the eastern section of Visayas. Flash floods or landslides may result due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Mainland Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Bicol Region, and Western Visayas will have cloudy skies with light rains due to the monsoon affecting Luzon and the rest of Visayas.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon may expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the monsoon.

The rest of Mindanao on the other hand will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms. During severe thunderstorms, flash floods or landslides may possibly occur.

Coastal waters will be rough in the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas, and moderate to rough in the rest of the country.
