Cloudy skies, rain showers across PH due to Amihan, easterlies

The Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) is still over Northern and Central Luzon, while the rest of the country continues to be affected by the easterlies, according to PAGASA on Saturday.

In its 24-hour weather forecast, PAGASA said the easterlies may bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Caraga, Eastern Samar, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Cebu, and Bohol.

The Northeast Monsoon will cause cloudy skies with light rains over Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, and Calabarzon, and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains in the Ilocos Region.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the combined effects of the easterlies and localized thunderstorms.

Flash floods or landslides may occur due to the easterlies and localized thunderstorms.

Northern and Central Luzon may experience moderate to strong winds with moderate to rough seas, while the rest of the country is forecast to have light to moderate winds with slight to moderate coastal waters.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 6:08 a.m. on Sunday. — Jiselle Anne Casucian/VBL, GMA Integrated News
