Cloudy skies, rain showers across PH due to Amihan, easterlies

The Northeast Monsoon or Amihan will affect extreme Northern Luzon while easterlies will continue to affect the rest of the country on Tuesday, state weather forecaster PAGASA said.

In its 4 a.m. update, PAGASA said cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thurderstorms due to easterlies are likely to be experienced in the Davao Region, CARAGA, Aurora and Quezon.

With this, PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides "due to moderate to at times heavy rains."

Meanwhile, Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, and Ilocos Region will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to Amihan.

In Metro Manila and the rest of the country, there will be partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to easterlies or localized thunderstorms. PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

PAGASA also said Luzon and the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao will have moderate to strong winds blowing east to northeast. Coastal waters will be moderate to rough (1.2 to 3.5 meters).

The rest of the country, on the other hand, will have light to moderate winds blowing east to northeast. Coastal waters will be light to moderate (0.6 to 2.5 meters), PAGASA said.

Sunrise on Tuesday will be at 6:06 a.m. while sunset will be at 6:06 p.m.  —KBK, GMA Integrated News
