ITCZ to bring rain showers over southern Mindanao

The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) is continuing to affect southern Mindanao on Tuesday and will bring rain showers, PAGASA said in its weather forecast.

Davao Region, Surigao del Sur, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ.

An ITCZ is formed when winds from the northern and southern hemisphere meet.

Moderate to at times heavy rains may possibly lead to flash floods or landslides.

The easterlies meanwhile will affect the rest of the country, PAGASA said.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country may expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies and localized thunderstorms.

During severe thunderstorms, flash floods or landslides may possibly occur.

Coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the country,.
