Thunderstorm advisory up over NCR, 7 provinces


Metro Manila and seven other provinces are expected to experience heavy rainshowers

The state weather bureau on Tuesday afternoon released a thunderstorm advisory covering Metro Manila and seven provinces.

Issued at 2:17 p.m., PAGASA said Bulacan, Bataan, Quezon, Rizal, Laguna, Cavite, Batangas, and Metro Manila were expected to experience moderate to heavy rain showers with lightning and strong winds within the next two hours.

Meanwhile, heavy to intense rain showers with lightning and strong winds are being experienced in Tarlac (Moncada, Paniqui, Camiling, San Manuel, Anao, Ramos, Concepcion), Nueva Ecija (Nampicuan, Jaen, Zaragoza, Licab), Pampanga (Magalang, Mabalacat), and Zambales (Iba, Palauig), which may persist for two hours and affect nearby areas.

Residents in these areas were warned against possible flash floods and landslides.

An earlier thunderstorm advisory was issued at 12:07 p.m. that covered Nueva Ecija, Quezon, Bulacan, Pampanga, Metro Manila, Bataan, Laguna, Cavite, and Batangas.

PAGASA earlier said Typhoon Aghon accelerated away from Luzon and was expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Wednesday afternoon or evening.  —Mariel Celine Serquiña/VAL/VBL, GMA Integrated News
