3 low pressure areas enhance Habagat - PAGASA

Three low pressure areas are pulling the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), bringing rains over parts of the country, according to the state weather bureau PAGASA on Tuesday.

Two LPAs are outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, while the other LPA was monitored 615 km east northeast of Itbayat, Batanes, at 3 p.m.

One of the LPAs outside PAR may develop into a tropical cyclone, PAGASA weather specialist Veronica Torres said in a 4 p.m. update.

Torres said the three LPAs strengthened the Habagat, which affects Central and Southern Luzon and Visayas.

The Southwest Monsoon will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Western Visayas, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan, and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the rest of Visayas, Bicol Region, the rest of MIMAROPA, and the rest of CALABARZON.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by localized thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, light to moderate winds with slight to moderate coastal waters are expected all over the Philippines.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 5:41 a.m. on Wednesday.  — Mariel Celine Serquiña and Jiselle Anne Casucian/VBL, GMA Integrated News
