Habagat to bring cloudy skies with scattered rains over Luzon, W. Visayas

The southwest monsoon or habagat will continue to affect Luzon and the western section of Visayas on Tuesday, PAGASA reported.

Meanwhile, the weather bureau is also monitoring a tropical cyclone outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

Tropical Storm Ampil is located 1,570 kilometers east northeast of extrme Northern Luzon packing maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour near the center, gustiness of up to 80 kph, and moving slowly northwestward.

Ilocos Region, Zambales, Batanes, and Babuyan Islands will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon with flash floods or landslides possibly occurring due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, Western Visayas, and Negros Island Region will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon with the possibility that flash floods or landslides occurring during severe thunderstorms.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms with possible flash floods or landslides occurring during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast for Luzon is light to moderate moving southwest with coastal waters slight to moderate.

The rest of the country will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the south to southwest direciton with slight to moderate coastal waters.
